SpiritSeal™ Platform Overview: One Platform, Three Products, Every Bottle Protected

SpiritSeal™ is built on NXP NTAG 424 DNA chips and Cerfinity™ Digital Provenance Technology. Here's how the Distillery Portal, BottleWatch™, and Collector Registry work together.

What SpiritSeal™ is

SpiritSeal™ is a spirits authentication and brand-protection platform powered by Cerfinity™ Digital Provenance Technology™ (DPT™). It gives craft distilleries, premium spirits brands, and spirits collectors the infrastructure to prove, protect, and transfer provenance — from the bottling line to the bar shelf to the collector's cabinet.

The platform operates as three integrated products that share a common NFC chip infrastructure and provenance registry, making SpiritSeal™ the single source of truth for a bottle's identity from production through every subsequent owner.

The chip: NTAG 424 DNA

Every SpiritSeal™ authenticated bottle carries an NXP NTAG 424 DNA NFC chip embedded in a tamper-evident label applied to the bottle closure. Its security properties are hardware-enforced — not software promises.

  • AES-128 cryptographic authentication. Every read generates a Secure Unique NFC (SUN) message — a cryptographic signature that changes with every tap and cannot be replicated or pre-recorded.
  • ECC-based NXP Originality Signature. Each chip carries a factory-burned key that proves it is a genuine NXP chip and not a clone.
  • Common Criteria EAL4 certified. Independent lab certification for hardware and software security.
  • 50-year data retention, 100,000 write cycles. Enterprise-grade durability.

TagTamper — opening-event detection

For limited releases, single-barrel selections, and collector-grade bottles, SpiritSeal™ uses the NTAG 424 DNA TagTamper variant. The tamper-detection antenna is woven into the label substrate. When the closure is broken, the antenna physically severs, triggering a permanent state change in the chip's memory. The opening event is logged with timestamp and, where available, GPS location. This state cannot be reversed — not by re-waxing, re-capsuling, or replacing the label.

Three products, one platform

1. Distillery Portal

The operational hub for brand owners.

  • Spirit registration with mash bill, grain source, water source, distillation date, barrel type, age, ABV, batch number, tasting notes.
  • Bottle activation of NFC chips against registered spirits — individually, in bulk, or via CSV import.
  • Analytics for authenticated bottles, sealed-vs-opened status, scan geography, and consumer engagement.
  • Provenance documentation linked to the on-chain registry.
  • A public, SEO-indexed distillery profile at /distillery/[slug].

2. BottleWatch™ — on-premise monitoring

Real-time visibility into what happens to product in bar and restaurant accounts — the channel where refilling fraud is most prevalent and most damaging.

  • Live opening-event feed across all registered accounts.
  • Algorithmic anomaly detection for refilling, stockpiling, and grey-market diversion.
  • Account risk scoring (Clear / Watch / High Risk).
  • Email and SMS alerts on clone attempts, anomalies, and high-risk events.
  • API and webhook integration on Growth tier and above.

3. Collector Registry

Cryptographic proof of authenticity, transferable chain of custody, and a community of verified authentic bottles.

  • Free collector account creation and bottle claiming.
  • Full provenance certificate accessible to any subsequent buyer.
  • On-chain ownership transfer recorded permanently.
  • Storage declaration to support insurance and resale valuation.
  • A $0.50–$2.00 transfer fee that compounds with secondary-market activity.

Consumer verification — under two seconds

The consumer verification page at /verify/[chip-id] is the public face of SpiritSeal™. It requires no app, no account, and loads on any NFC-enabled smartphone in under two seconds.

  • Sealed: green banner, full provenance details, tasting notes, distillery story, and an option to claim ownership.
  • Opened: neutral banner showing the first opening date, time, and location — plus the full ownership history.
  • Anomaly: red alert banner with guidance to contact the distillery.
  • Not found: clear message that the chip ID is not registered.

Commercial model

SpiritSeal™ operates on platform licensing with chips billed separately as a consumable. This keeps platform economics clean and lets distilleries scale chip usage independently of their software subscription. See the pricing page for current tiers and per-chip volume pricing.
